Since 1994: Expertise that builders trust
AMBOOO, a brand of GS Götz Schmitt GmbH based in Achim near Bremen, has been working with bamboo in all its facets for over three decades. This experience led to the development of our proprietary HCS technology: bamboo stalks are compressed and refined using a thermal-mechanical process, combined with a care oil manufactured in Germany. The result is decking boards, facade profiles, and privacy screen elements that are noticeably harder and more durable than traditional wood, opening up entirely new applications.
A serious alternative to hardwood and tropical wood
Botanically, bamboo is a grass – and it grows accordingly fast: up to one meter per day. While tropical trees take decades to reach maturity, bamboo is ready for use after just a few years. AMBOOO products exclusively use stalks from sustainably managed highland forests that are at least five years old. This creates a material that, thanks to HCS refinement, matches or exceeds the hardness and weather resistance of many tropical woods – all without exploiting the rainforest.
FSC certification as a fundamental principle
At AMBOOO, FSC is not an added bonus, but the starting point for product development. As a rapidly renewable raw material, bamboo absorbs large amounts of CO₂ while growing and can be harvested responsibly without the need for deforestation. Combined with years of optimized processing and "Made in Germany" care oil, the result is a building material that unites ecological responsibility with long-lasting quality – for builders who don't want to compromise on either.

Contrary to what many expect, bamboo is anything but monotonous. The AMBOOO product range extends from warm, dark tones like ESPRESSO and COFFEE to natural nuances like WHITE OAK and SAND, as well as IPE-Style and GRANITEGREY. Whether for a warm, Mediterranean-style deck, a minimalist modern facade, or a privacy screen that blends subtly into the overall design – the variety of colors makes bamboo a material that adapts to any architectural vision rather than limiting it.

Decks
AMBOOO decking boards with a closed-decking profile even function like parquet for the outdoors: slip-resistant, dimensionally stable, and weather-resistant – a long-lasting alternative to Ipe, Bangkirai, or domestic larch.
