High-quality terrace with 3 mm joint

In the project, the old wooden deck of a restaurant in the Netherlands was replaced in the catering area, the entrance and the balconies with bamboo decking in a CLOSED DECK profile and the color SAND.

The substructure consists of an aluminum system which, in combination with the special clip, is not only durable but also saves around 50% time during installation. The aluminum profiles are assembled in a very simple and precise way using multi-corners and connectors in guide rails provided for this purpose. The dimensional accuracy of the profiles requires no rework and allows the covering to be installed quickly.

The bamboo decking boards are installed with a metal clip on the aluminum substructure without screwing, which saves time and money.

The CLOSED DECK profile is also known as outdoor parquet due to the look with the 3 mm joint. In addition to the optical features, the CLOSED DECK has many other advantages. The small joint prevents objects from falling through, allows water to drain off, offers fewer tripping hazards, offers fire protection in accordance with DIN EN 13501 and ASTM84 and is slip-resistant in accordance with DIN 51097 and DIN 51130 - R12.

The profile is feasible due to the low swelling and shrinkage of bamboo decking boards. The high density and dimensional stability surpass even most tropical woods.

The pictures show, among other things, the installation and the “found objects” under the previous terrace. Thanks to the 3 mm joint, this will be prevented in the future.
